
New Delhi: The country’s largest telecom company Jio (JIO) has completed the preparations to launch 5G services in about 1,000 cities and has also tested its indigenously developed 5G telecom equipment. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has said in its annual report that its telecom arm Jio has taken several steps to prepare itself for 5G services with its 100% indigenous technology in the financial year 2021-22.
Jio made the biggest bid in the 5G spectrum auction
Reliance Jio has emerged as the largest bidder in the recently concluded 5G spectrum auction. Of the Rs 1.50 lakh crore bids put up in the auction, Jio alone had bids worth Rs 88,078 crore.
According to the report of Reliance Industries Limited, “Jio’s plan to provide 5G services in 1,000 cities of the country has been completed. During this, the target consumer consumption and revenue potential were based on the use of heat maps, 3D maps, and ray-tracing technology.

The company said that Jio has also tested the services related to 5G technology on the ground. During this, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality (VR), Cloud Gaming, TV Streaming, Affiliated Hospitals, and Industrial Use were tested.
10 times faster download capacity than 4G in 5G network
It is worth noting that 5G is the latest network that offers faster internet speed (multi-Gbps peak speed), and ultra-low-latency (extremely less interruption) than ever before. In this, the user gets a more reliable large network capacity. Compared to 4G, 5G technology will come with a much better interface. The Department of Telecom says that with the introduction of services based on the 5G spectrum, downloads will be 10 times faster than 4G and the efficiency of the spectrum will also increase by about three times.
