Mumbai: The International Space University (ISU) based in France paid tribute to actor Sushant Singh Rajput and said the news of the actor’s death was “extremely sad”. According to an official, the Mumbai police found during investigation that the 34-year-old actor was undergoing treatment for depression. On Monday, tweeted on ISU’s official Twitter handle that Rajput was scheduled to visit the campus last year, but could not come due to the commitment of other programs.

A statement issued by the university said, “We are deeply saddened by the news of the sudden demise of famous Indian actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Mr. Rajput was a strong supporter of STEM education and was following ISU on social media. ” “He also accepted an invitation to come to ISU’s Central Campus in the summer of 2019, but could not come to Strasbourg due to his commitment to other programs,” he said.
Condolences to Rajput’s family and friends, the ISU said, “The actor’s memory will live among thousands of his fans across India and around the world.” Rajput enrolled in Delhi University of Technology (DTU) in 2003, which was then known as Delhi College of Engineering, but left the course midway to pursue a career in the acting world. Even after leaving the four-year degree course, his attraction to science did not diminish and he had a keen interest in astronomy.
He also went to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 2017 to research for the film “Chanda Mama Door Ke”. Rajput was to play the role of an astronaut in the film, for which he also stayed at NASA for training. However the film was later postponed.
