Washington: Indian-American physician Hiral Tipirneni has won the Democratic Party primary election for the US House of Representatives from Arizona. In this seat, he will face incumbent Republican Party MP David Schwickert. The new poll showed that she was trailing by just three points from the Republican candidate.
This seat is considered a stronghold of the Republican Party. “I feel honored to be nominated in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District,” Tipirneni said. Tipirneni’s family moved to the US from India when she was only three years old. She and her husband Dr. Kishore Tipirneni live in Arizona and have three children. He has been supported by many Democratic Party leaders, including California-Indian Senator Kamala Harris.
