Temperature may reach 46 degrees Celsius in Delhi: Meteorological Department

New Delhi: Heatwave in the capital of Delhi today and the maximum temperature is forecast to be around 46 degrees Celsius. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in Delhi may increase by 0.5-1 degree above normal on Friday. RK Jenamani of IMD said that the temperature in Delhi may reach 46 degrees Celsius today.

According to the Meteorological Department, today’s temperature in Delhi may increase by 0.5-1 degree and may reach up to 46 degrees Celsius at some stations. Also, in some stations of Haryana, the temperature can be recorded above 46 degrees Celsius. While the peak temperature will continue over Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and West Uttar Pradesh today.

It may be noted that according to the bulletin issued by the IMD at 8.30 am, “West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Jammu, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand Heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail over parts of West Bengal, Telangana, and Odisha.

According to the IMD, hot winds are declared as ‘loo’ when the temperature in the plains is more than 40 degrees Celsius or 4.5 degrees Celsius above normal. A ‘severe heatwave’ is declared when the temperature is 6.4 degrees above normal.
