New Delhi: Vaccine Covishield of Serum Institute of India, the world’s largest vaccine-producing company, may be allowed to use emergency in India. An Expert Committee on Covid-19 of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is set to make a recommendation to approve the emergency use of Kovishield, an anti-Corona virus vaccine in Oxford. In Britain, this vaccine was believed to be allowed in India after getting emergency use permission. The Serum Institute is a partner in Oxford’s vaccine and will sell the vaccine in the country under the name Covishield.

Significantly, the UK is the first country in the world that has allowed emergency use of the Oxford-Estrogena vaccine. Serum Institute in India has already prepared 5 crore doses of this vaccine.

The greatest feature is to keep it at a low temperature
There are several reasons for the covishield vaccine being more favorable for India. The first is to freeze the vaccine of the Pfizer at a temperature of -70 ° C, for which arranging the freezer will be a big challenge for India. At the same time, a deep freezer will also be required for Moderna’s vaccine. But the Oxford vaccine can be kept in a normal freeze.

The vaccine can be easily supplied on a large scale
The other positive aspect is that in a big country like India, vaccination will require a very large scale production. Serum Institute can prove to be extremely helpful as the world’s largest vaccine producer. The company says that by the month of March, it will prepare about one hundred million doses. Significantly, about 300 million people are to be vaccinated in the first phase of vaccination of Corona in India.

The price will be relatively low
CEO of Serum Institute Adar Poonawala has also made it clear that almost all the dosas currently made will be used for India only. At the same time, the third specialty of this vaccine is money. In an interview in November, Poonawala has said that the price of both doses of the vaccine will be kept below one thousand rupees.
