New Delhi: The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued an alert regarding the new variant BA.2 of Omicron. The world’s largest health organization has said that the mistake of considering Omicron’s new variant BA.2 weak should not be made and it may be too heavy to deal with. At the same time, the WHO urged nations not to rush into easing restrictions, as there are many countries where the peak of the wave of Omicron variants of Corona is yet to come. The WHO chief said, ‘It is too early to declare victory against the virus. Alerting about the future challenges of COVID, he said, this virus is dangerous. The United Nations health agency is currently tracking emerging variants, including Omicron’s sub-variant BA.2.

Covid cases decreased in the country, deaths increased
The cases of infection with coronavirus are decreasing in the country, but the deaths are increasing. However, the reason for the increase in deaths is the release of the earlier deaths with the new figures by the Kerala government. There has also been a decline in active cases. According to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Tuesday, 1,67,059 new cases have been found in the country and 1,192 deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours. These include the highest number of 42,154 cases and 729 deaths from Kerala. The total number of infected has increased to 4.14 crore, while 4.96 lakh people have lost their lives so far.

During this, there has been a decrease of 88,209 active cases and presently active cases stand at 17,43,059 which is 4.20 percent of the total cases. The recovery rate of patients has started increasing and it is now 94.60 percent, while the death rate remains at 1.20 percent. The daily infection rate is 11.69 percent and the weekly infection rate is 15.25 percent.

So far about 167 crore doses have been administered
According to the data of the Ministry of Health’s Kovin portal till 11.15 pm, 166.95 crore doses of the anti-corona vaccine have been applied in the country. These include 94.43 crores first, 71.29 crores second, and 1.22 crore vigilance dose. So far, 4.77 crore adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 have been given the first dose of the vaccine. Till the writing of the news, 56.93 lakh doses had been administered on Tuesday.
