New Delhi: The demand for Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) segment is increasing very fast in the Indian market. All the automakers are offering their SUVs in the market with superb and updated features. Mahindra has included XUV400 in its portfolio, for which the company has also applied for the trademark. After applying for the trademark, there is a discussion about the launch of this SUV of the company. It will be a mid-size urban SUV like the Hyundai Creta and Seltos.
XUV400 can be launched in the market with 5 and 7 seater variants
Experts believe that this new SUV can take position between Mahindra’s existing model XUV300 and XUV500. Its length can be around 4.3 meters, which is the same as Hyundai Creta and Kia Celtos. It is believed that this SUV will be ready on the platform of Mahindra X100, as seen in the Mahindra XUV300. This is a better platform for different body types and different engine options. The company can launch this SUV in the market with 5 and 7 seater options.
Mahindra’s new SUV may be priced from Rs 11 to 16 lakhs
Mahindra can use a 1.5-liter capacity G15 turbocharged petrol engine in this SUV, which generates power of 163bhp and torque of 280Nm. It was also introduced at the last Auto Expo. At the same time, Mahindra can use the 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine in its diesel version, which generates torque of 300Nm and power of 120bhp. Similar diesel engines are also seen in the Marazzo and XUV300. Both of its engines will be BS6 standard ones. Its engines can come with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission. After the launch of this SUV, its market price can be from 11 to 16 lakhs.
