INS Shardul carrying 233 Indians stranded in Iran arrives at Porbandar Port

Porbandar: As part of Operation Samudra Setu under Vande Bharat Mission, INS Shardul carrying 233 Indians stranded in Iran arrived at the Porbandar Port today afternoon.

AIR correspondent reports that all the evacuees were entrusted to the care of State authorities. The ship had embarked its journey from Port of Bandar Abbas in Iran on Monday evening. 

Soon after reaching the Porbandar Port, all the evacuees were screened and their luggage was sanitized by the District Health teams in view of the COVID-19. All the passengers were given ICE kits which include seven masks and sanitizers.

All of them were taken to the institutional quarantine facility for seven days. Out of the total passengers, most of them were fishermen from Valsad district who expressed their gratitude towards the government of India for bringing them safely back to the country.
