New Delhi: India has listed the schedule of the meeting in Srinagar in the G20 calendar. China and Pakistan were objecting to the G20 meeting in Srinagar, but India announced the dates thwarting the nefarious designs of both countries. Last month also, China had objected to the G20 meeting held in Arunachal Pradesh. At the same time, Pakistan had lobbied its allies in G20 like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and China to stop the G20 meeting in Srinagar. Last month, at the G20 meeting in Arunachal Pradesh, China showed its fury by releasing new names of 11 places in the Indian state in the Mandarin language. India on Friday updated its G20 calendar and released the schedule for holding the G20 Working Group meeting on tourism in Srinagar from May 22 to 24.
Official sources said that like the Arunachal Pradesh meeting, China may remain absent in the Srinagar meeting as well. He said that like Arunachal, there was never any doubt about the G20 meeting in Srinagar. Preparations for this meeting were started last year itself. India is organizing G20 meetings under its chairmanship in all 28 states and 8 union territories of the country. Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are also included in this and both these states are an integral part of India. The G20 meeting in Arunachal was attended by around 50 delegates. The Central Government is hopeful that a similar response is going to be received in the meeting to be held in Srinagar, which will be a befitting reply to the false Pakistani propaganda of human rights violations in the Kashmir Valley.
Normalcy has returned in the Union Territory. After the successful organization of this high-profile event, the world will also accept this fact. However, in the next few months, there will also be a G20 meeting in Srinagar amidst several proposed high-level talks with China. Chinese Defense and Foreign Ministers are expected to visit India soon for SCO meetings. India is currently in touch with China, Russia, and other member states to finalize the dates for the SCO summit in July. If Chinese President Xi Jinping comes to India for the meeting, it would open up an opportunity for his first bilateral meeting with PM Narendra Modi since the ongoing military standoff in eastern Ladakh since April 2020.
