Columbus (US): Ballots sent to about 50,000 voters in a county in Columbus, the capital and largest city of the American province of Ohio, were incorrect.
These ballots are sent to people who are unable or unwilling to go to the official polling booth to vote. Election officials gave this information on Friday, although they promised that people would get the correct ballots within the next 72 hours. According to officials, around 2,40,000 ballots were sent. This means that one in five voters got the wrong ballot.

According to Franklin County election officials, the disturbance occurred on Saturday when someone changed the setting of a machine sending the ballot. The Franklin County Election Board said a total of 2,37,498 people were sent ballots, of which 49,669 voters received incorrect ballots.

Franklin County has about 8,80,000 registered voters. The Election Board has announced that the process of exchanging ballots, putting them in envelopes and sending them is underway. The board also said that it will clarify the situation by sending postcards to all voters who have received incorrect ballots.
