Mandal officials say that the length of Ganapati cannot be reduced. If a small statue is also brought, then a large number of people will gather to see Bappa. In such a situation, neither will there be any idol, nor will the idol be immersed keeping in mind the safety of the people.
This time Lalbaugcha Mandal will celebrate Ganapati festival as a healing festival. Under this blood donation camps will be set up. Plasma therapy will be given priority. At the same time, financial help will also be provided to the family of policemen who died from Corona.
Sudhir Salvi, secretary of Lalbagha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal said- ‘This time, instead of Ganesh Utsav, Mandal will donate to CM Relief Fund. Also, the families of the soldiers killed in LOC and LAC will be helped.
Officials say that the Raja of Lalbaghacha wants to see his devotees healthy. In this case, keeping in mind the social distancing, this year there will be no idol nor immersion.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had ordered all the mandals not to celebrate Ganapati festival like every year, as a large number of people gather in it. He also said that the height of Ganapati idol should be kept up to 4 feet only.
