Islamabad: In Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), the administration there has imposed a Tughlaqi decree on girl students and teachers. In the new order here, while making hijab mandatory, action has been said against the girls who do not wear it. Under this order, the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) government on Monday made it mandatory for girl students and teachers in co-ed educational institutions to wear hijab, as well as strict instructions have been given to those who do not believe it.
According to a Geo News report, the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) government warned that strict action would be taken against the institute if it fails to implement the instructions issued by the authorities. However, it has not been clarified in the circular what action will be taken against the girl students and teachers who do not wear hijabs. Explaining the reason behind the circular, the officials of the education department said that the heads of the institutions are not implementing the dress code issued earlier by the authorities. However, the education officials could not provide information about the dress code issued earlier.

Officials termed the circular issued as an “internal matter” of the office and said it was issued to ensure discipline in educational institutions. Talking to Pakistani channel Geo News, PoK’s Education Minister Diwan Ali Khan Chughtai claimed that the notification has been issued in accordance with the ‘moral values of our religion and our society’. He said, ‘This (wearing the hijab) is the command of Allah and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).’
