Chandigarh: The Haryana government has waived the tax on school buses for four months of the lockdown period, meeting the large demand of private school operators in the state. The state government has waived tax from April to July.
Haryana Transport Minister Pandit Moolchand Sharma said that the delegation of private school operators of the state met the Chief Minister and he was on the issue of waiving tax of buses during the lockdown period. With the consent of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, the school bus tax from April to July has been waived.
Transport Minister Moolchand Sharma said that the tax which is being taken after the month of July will be decided by Chief Minister Manohar Lal only. The Transport Department will take further action on the instructions of the Chief Minister.
On the issue of not allowing buses to be operated by the five neighboring states of Haryana, the Transport Minister said that thousands of people of Haryana are facing severe problems due to the stubborn attitude of the Delhi Government. The Delhi government has not yet approved the operation of buses.
