Washington: Google spearheaded efforts by top US technology companies to help H1B Visa holders approve a program related to approving partners of workers in the US. The H1B visa is in great demand among Indian IT professionals.

Google is working closely with 30 other companies to support the H-4EAD (Employment Clearance Document) program. The US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) issues H-4 visas to family members (spouses and children under 21) of H-1B visa holders.

The H1B visa is a nonimmigrant visa that allows US companies to hire foreign personnel in specialized occupations requiring theoretical or technical expertise. Technology companies depend on this visa to hire thousands of people from countries like India and China every year.
