New Delhi: The Government has made another big announcement after implementing the Consumer Protection Act 2019. Union Minister of Consumer Affairs and Food, Ram Vilas Paswan said on Monday that customers will now be able to check the veracity of goods through an app. Any complaint related to goods, license, registration and verification of hallmark will now be investigated through BIS App. Paswan launched the BIS Care app on Monday. If the license, registration and hallmark number of the goods are found wrong in this app then the customer can also complain about it immediately. Through this app, the customer will get information about filing a complaint immediately.
Will be helpful for customers
Explain that along with the implementation of BIS standards, it also checks the authenticity of the veracity. Paswan said on Monday that BIS has issued around 37,000 standards, with the number of licenses expected to boom due to the issuance of quality control orders. Emphasis is being laid on expanding and modernizing the laboratories of BIS. Testing facilities for evaluation of drinking water and gold jewelery are being created in many branch offices like BIS 8 laboratories Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jammu, Bhopal, Raipur and Lucknow.
Can check the authenticity of hallmarked products
Paswan said, “BIS is developing a portal on consumer engagement, through which online registration of consumer groups, submission of proposals and their approval and complaint management will be facilitated. Through this mobile app, consumers can check the authenticity of ISI stamped and hallmarked products and can also complain against them using this act.
