New Delhi: The agitation of farmers against the three new farm laws of the central government has been going on for the last about three and a half months. Farmers have continued on the borders of Delhi. Negotiations with the government so far have not yielded any results. So farmers have started preparations to stay here for a long time. In such a situation, farmers have now started building houses from brick. So far, many such small houses have been built on the border. At present, the farmers live here in tents.

On the Tikari border of Haryana, farmers can be seen preparing houses with brick. About 20-25 thousand rupees are being spent to build such houses. Farmers are only giving the same amount of money, not wages. Talking to news agency ANI, Anil Malik of the Farmers Social Army said that so far 25 houses have been prepared, while about one to two thousand houses will be prepared.

It is a terrible summer in Delhi. At present, the farmers live in tractors and tents, but the farmers say that the time for harvesting has come. So they have to send their tractors to the village. In such a situation, they need a house built of brick. Farmers hope that more and more houses will be built as soon as possible. Farmers have been staging sit-ins at the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders of Delhi since late November last year to repeal new agricultural laws and demand for legal guarantees for the minimum support price. Most of them are farmers from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh.

The farmers have called for a Bharat Bandh on the occasion of completion of four months of their agitation against the new agricultural laws on 26 March. Farmers and trade unions will jointly protest against the increase in prices of petrol and diesel and privatization of railways. The farmers will celebrate ‘Mandi Bachao-Save Kheti’ Day on March 19. The farmers associations have also decided to celebrate the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
