The Story of ‘Ikkis’ Based on True Events
‘Ikkis’ is a war film inspired by a true event. In it, Agastya Nanda plays the role of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war and depicts the story of Arun Khetarpal’s bravery and sacrifice. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honor, for his valor.
The narrative captures the heroic actions of the young officer during the Battle of Basantar, where his tank crew destroyed multiple Pakistani tanks before he made the ultimate sacrifice. The film aims to portray not just the military action but also the human story behind the legend, showing the young officer’s courage and dedication to the nation.
The Film’s Strong Star Cast
The film also boasts a strong star cast. Agastya Nanda will be seen opposite Simran Bhatia, who is actor Akshay Kumar’s niece. Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat will also be seen in important roles. Besides them, Ekavali Khanna, Shri Bishnoi, Vivaan Shah, Sikandar Kher, Aryan Pushkar, and Mansi Chawla are also part of the film.
Currently, with its story of patriotism, passion, and sacrifice, ‘Ikkis’ is not only expected to be a memorable farewell film for Dharmendra but is also being considered a powerful debut for Agastya Nanda’s career. The combination of a legendary actor’s final performance and a star kid’s launch, backed by Sriram Raghavan’s directorial vision, positions the film as a significant cinematic event for 2026.
