There have been many incidents of technical glitches in the planes of Indian airlines in the last 45 days. In view of this, the DGCA conducted a surprise inspection last month.
Will focus on quality and maintenance control
The order dated July 18 of the DGCA stated that during the above special audit, the hangars and stores, the equipment used by the airline personnel, the quality of the airlines, the aircraft parked due to shortage of spare parts, and the airline’s maintenance will be focused on the control center.
The order, available with PTI, said availability of “adequate, qualified and experienced” man force during the special audit, duty deadlines, current maintenance data for all types of aircraft, etc. will also be taken into account.
The order said that this special audit is starting from July 19 to ensure that the airlines are adhering to the “set standards”. DGCA officials said that this audit will be completed in two months.
