Indore: In a daring daylight heist, an unidentified individual stormed into the Punjab National Bank branch at Scheme No. 54, Vijay Nagar, Indore, making off with a staggering ₹6,64,000. The audacious thief fled the scene on a motorcycle, leaving the bank staff and authorities in shock.
Police Investigation and Swift Action:
- The incident was promptly reported to the Vijay Nagar police station, and a full-scale investigation was launched. The accused was swiftly identified through meticulous analysis of CCTV footage.
- Meet the culprit: Arun Kumar Singh, a fugitive soldier, hails from Kalua Tilpur in Nayagaon Tehsil, Aliganj District, Etah (Uttar Pradesh). Currently residing at 306 Shyam Nagar, Main Sukhaliya, Police Station Hira Nagar, Indore, Singh was found in possession of ₹3 lakh in cash, a black raincoat, a bag, shoes, and a green Hero Splendor motorcycle—all seized from his residence.
- Escaping Indore: Despite fleeing the city, Singh’s luck ran out. The Indore Crime Branch tracked him down to Khiriya village in Nayagaon district, Etah, Uttar Pradesh. A dedicated team apprehended him, and now they’re en route back to Indore with their captive.
