Customers are getting long waiting, orders for more than 10 lakh cars are pending

New Delhi: In the Indian automobile market, there has been a growth in both the sales and production of vehicles in recent times. During the first wave of Covid, supply chain and semiconductor shortages increased the input cost of companies. Despite the reforms, the industry is still in the recovery phase. Because of this, the waiting period for many popular cars is quite long.

Scorpio orders 1.5 lakh
Mahindra introduced the Scorpio N and the Scorpio Classic a few weeks back in India. On the day the reservation opened, Scorpio N got more than one lakh bookings in just half an hour. Around 1.5 lakh orders are currently pending for the SUV offered in six and seven-seater configurations.

Order pending for more than 10 lakh cars
This is the car with the highest pending order in the entire industry. Presently orders for more than 10 lakh new cars are pending. A total of 1.25 lakh units of orders are pending for Kia Sonet, Seltos, and Carens together. The Cairns has received a good response from the customers since the beginning of this year, while the Seltos is expected to get a facelift next year.

1.5 lakh orders for S-CNG pending
There is an order pending of around 1.30 lakh units of the S-CNG range. The new gen model of Maruti Suzuki Brezza has been introduced a few months back. While the Grand Vitara will officially enter the domestic market this month. Their combined pending orders are 1.30 lakh units. Meanwhile, Mahindra is yet to deliver 1.10 lakh units of the XUV700 and Thar in India.

There is an order pending of 75,000 units including Baleno, Swift, Celerio, and Ertiga. Talking about Tata Nexon, Punch, and Nexon EV, a total of 50,000 orders for these three cars are still pending, whose delivery has not been received by the customers. MG has 45,000 units pending for Astor and Hector.
