Mumbai: New cases of corona are increasing in Maharashtra. In the last 24 hours, 25,425 new cases have been reported in the state and 42 people have died due to corona infection. At the same time, 72 new cases of Omicron have been reported in the state. This information was given by the State Health Department (Maharashtra Health Department).
According to the release issued by the Health Department, due to the death of 25,425 new cases and 42 patients in the state, the number of infected has reached 76,30,606. At the same time, the death toll has gone up to 1,42,358. Apart from this, after 36,708 people became corona-free, the number of people recovering has increased to 71,77,001. There are currently 2,87,397 active patients in the state.
According to the Ministry of Health, 15,31,108 people are currently living in home quarantine in Maharashtra. At the same time, 3,259 patients are admitted to hospitals and quarantine centers. The positivity rate has increased to 94.32 percent amidst the increasing number of people in the state. At the same time, the mortality rate has been recorded at 1.86%.
72 new cases of Omicron
In Maharashtra, the cases of new variant Omicron of corona are increasing, 72 new cases of Omicron have been found in the state in the last 24 hours. Of these, 33 patients have been found in Pune city, whereas, 19 patients have come from Aurangabad. Mumbai and Osmanabad have 5, Thane 3, Yavatmal, and Ahmednagar 2, while Nagpur, Pune Rural, and Latur have one case each.
After the arrival of new cases of Omicron in the state, the total number of infected has reached 2,930. However, it is a matter of relief that so far 1,592 people have defeated this virus in the state.
1,384 new cases of corona in Mumbai, 12 died
On Thursday, 1,384 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the capital Mumbai and 12 patients have died. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said in a bulletin that after the arrival of new cases, the total number of people infected so far in Maharashtra has increased to 10,41,747, while the total death toll from the epidemic has increased to 16,581. At present, there are 18,040 patients under treatment of Kovid in the city.
