  • New Rates: In Delhi, the retail price of a commercial LPG cylinder is now ₹1,762.

New Delhi: In a significant relief for businesses starting the new financial year, oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a ₹41 reduction in the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders. Effective April 1, 2025, the revised retail price in Delhi is ₹1,762 per cylinder, down from ₹1,803.

This adjustment follows a series of price fluctuations earlier this year. On February 1, the price of commercial LPG cylinders was reduced by ₹7, while March witnessed a marginal hike of ₹6. The latest revision reflects ongoing volatility in global crude oil prices and market dynamics.

City-Wise Commercial LPG Prices

CityNew PricePrevious Price
Delhi₹1,762₹1,803
Mumbai₹1,714.50₹1,755.50
Kolkata₹1,872₹1,913
Chennai₹1,924.50₹1,965.50

Impact on Businesses

The price cut is expected to benefit commercial establishments such as restaurants and hotels that rely heavily on LPG for daily operations. Small businesses dependent on cooking fuel will also find some relief in managing operational costs. However, the reduction is modest and may not significantly offset previous hikes seen in December 2024 when prices increased by ₹62.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices

While commercial rates have been revised downward, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged. As of April 1, 2025, the cost of a 14.2-kg domestic cylinder in major cities is as follows:

  • Delhi: ₹803
  • Mumbai: ₹802.50
  • Kolkata: ₹829
  • Chennai: ₹818.50.

This revision offers partial relief to businesses across India amid fluctuating global energy markets. However, households relying on domestic LPG cylinders continue to benefit from stable pricing. As market conditions evolve, further adjustments to LPG prices may be expected in the coming months.
