Beijing / Wuhan: The World Health Organization (WHO) team exited the hotel on Thursday to tour the city after ending two weeks of isolation in Wuhan, China. The team has traveled to China to find out the origin of the corona virus. Simultaneously, China cautioned to speculate negatively about the origin of the virus in Wuhan and to make a politically motivated interpretation. The WHO team consists of 14 international scientists who were kept in isolation in a hotel in Wuhan for 14 days.
Start your month-long campaign
The team embarked on a month-long campaign in which they will explore all the possibilities that may have caused the corona virus, including bats and pangolins. The team members were seen boarding a bus outside the hotel in the afternoon. Some experts, members of the team, expressed their sighs on Twitter, taking a sigh of relief at the end of the period of isolation. Marion Coupons, a viral scientist at the Erasmus University Medical Center, tweeted with her picture, “I passed.” Peter Ben Ambarek, head of the team and veterinary specialist at WHO, replied, “Congratulations.”
Do not speculate on the origin of the virus
In Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian told reporters that the team of experts will discuss with their Chinese colleagues, following China’s epidemic prevention rules. The spokesperson cautioned that no speculation should be made about any inauguration regarding the virus origin in Wuhan. China also dismissed former US President Donald Trump’s allegations that the virus originated in a laboratory at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Zhao said, “It is not right to speculate, interpret negative biases and politically motivated interpretations and this will cause unnecessary disruption in the work of WHO experts in China.”
