New Delhi: Indian film director Chaitanya Tamhane’s “The Disciple” was awarded the “Amplify Voice Award” at the 45th Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday. He shared the award with film director Philippe Lacotte’s “Night of the Kings”. The Amplify Voice Awards jury described “The Disciple” as quite brilliant.
Recently the film received the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice Film Festival. TIFF 2020 culminated on Saturday with Meera Nair’s presentation of the BBC studio series “A Suitable Boy”. A television show was presented for the first time in the history of the film festival.
