New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday announced a special assessment scheme for the next year’s board exams of class 10th and 12th in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. The session was divided into two parts. The board has also announced plans to rationalize the curriculum of the 2021-22 academic session and make internal assessments and projects, etc. more “credible” and “legitimate”.
According to the government order issued by Joseph Emmanuel, Director (Teaching), CBSE, the first term exam will be held in November-December, 2021 while the second term exam will be held in March-April, 2022.
“The syllabus for the academic session 2021-22 will be divided into two terms in a rational manner, for which the help of subject experts will be taken,” he said.
He said, “Based on the bifurcation of the syllabus, the board will conduct examinations at the end of each term. This has been done with the aim of increasing the chances of the board conducting the 10th and 12th examinations at the end of the academic session.”
The syllabus of Board Examination 2021-22 will be rationalized with reference to the last academic session notified in July 2021. “Efforts will be made to make the internal assessment, pilot, project works more reliable and legal in accordance with the guidelines and the policy will be announced by the board to award marks in an unbiased manner,” Emmanuel said.
This scheme has been brought by the board due to the Kovid epidemic due to which the board exam of some subjects last year and the entire board exam this year has to be canceled.
