New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the schedule for the practical and theory examinations of Class 10 and Class 12 students for the academic year 2024-25. The highly anticipated announcement sets the stage for the crucial board exams, outlining key dates and detailed instructions for schools and students.
According to the CBSE’s official notification, the 2025 Practical Examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 are set to begin on January 1, 2025, with theory exams following from February 15, 2025. Schools across the country have been asked to prepare for these dates as the countdown to one of the most significant academic milestones begins.
However, in winter-bound schools, where institutions remain closed during January, the practical exams will be conducted earlier from November 5 to December 5, 2024. CBSE has issued a comprehensive set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines to ensure the smooth conduct of the practical exams, internal assessments, and project submissions in these schools.
Subject-Wise Marks Bifurcation Released for 2025 Exams
Along with the exam schedule, CBSE has also released an elaborate breakdown of the marks for all subjects for both Class 10 and Class 12. This subject-wise bifurcation provides schools with a detailed view of how marks are distributed across theory, practicals, project assessments, and internal assessments (IA). The maximum marks for each subject will be 100, with specific allocations for each component.
Schools have been instructed to carefully follow the new guidelines to avoid any discrepancies during the submission of practical or internal assessment marks. The detailed list released by CBSE includes the following information:
- Class and Subject Code
- Subject Name
- Maximum Marks for Theory Examination
- Maximum Marks for Practical Examination
- Maximum Marks for Project Assessment
- Maximum Marks for Internal Assessment (IA)
- Appointment of External Examiners for Practical/Project Assessment
- Provision of Practical Answer-books by CBSE
- Type of Answer Book for Theory Exams
This meticulous preparation aims to ensure that both students and schools have a clear understanding of the evaluation process, minimizing errors and confusion during the submission of marks.
Preparation for the 2025 Board Exams
With the announcement of these dates and guidelines, students are now in the final stretch of their preparation. Schools are expected to finalize their internal assessments and practicals in alignment with the CBSE’s instructions to ensure smooth data submission. As the practical exams are only months away, students are advised to intensify their focus on practical skills, project work, and theory revision to perform their best.
As always, CBSE emphasizes the importance of timely adherence to its schedules and guidelines to ensure a seamless and transparent examination process across all schools.
