CAT 2023 Answer Key and Response Sheet Released

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) has released the answer key and response sheet of the Common Admission Test (CAT 2023) on its official website. Candidates who appeared for the CAT exam can check and download their responses and the correct answers by logging in with their credentials. They can also raise objections to the answer key if they find any discrepancy or error.

How to Check and Download the Answer Key and Response Sheet
Candidates can follow these steps to check and download the answer key and response sheet of CAT 2023:

  • Visit the official website of CAT 2023, iimcat.ac.in.
  • Click on the link that says “Candidate Login”.
  • Enter your user ID and password and click on “Login”.
  • On the dashboard, click on the tab that says “Candidate Response”.
  • You will be able to see your response sheet and the answer key for each section.
  • You can download and print the response sheet and the answer key for future reference.

How to Raise Objections to the Answer Key
Candidates can also challenge the answer key if they find any mistake or discrepancy in it. They can raise objections to the answer key by following these steps:

  • Visit the official website of CAT 2023, iimcat.ac.in.
  • Click on the link that says “Candidate Login”.
  • Enter your user ID and password and click on “Login”.
  • On the dashboard, click on the tab that says “Objection Form”.
  • You will be able to see the instructions and the fee details for raising objections.
  • You can select the question number and the section that you want to object to and provide the reason and evidence for your objection.
  • You can pay the objection fee of Rs. 1200 per question through online mode.
  • You can submit your objection form before the deadline of 08 December 2023 at 05 pm.

CAT 2023 Exam Pattern and Statistics
CAT 2023 was conducted on 28 November 2023 in three slots across 430 test centers in India. The exam pattern of CAT 2023 was as follows:

  • The duration of the exam was 120 minutes, while for PWD candidates, 160 minutes were given.
  • The question paper consisted of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA).
  • Each section had 26 questions, out of which 18 were multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 8 were non-MCQs or type-in-the-answer (TITA) questions.
  • The total number of questions was 78, and the total marks were 228.
  • The marking scheme was +3 for each correct answer and -1 for each incorrect answer for MCQs. There was no negative marking for TITA questions.
CAT 2023 Answer Key and Response Sheet Released

According to the official data, a total of 3.28 lakh candidates had registered for CAT 2023, out of which only 2.88 lakh or 88 percent appeared for the exam. The gender-wise distribution of the candidates was 66.4 percent male and 33.6 percent female. The category-wise distribution of the candidates was 50.8 percent general, 27.9 percent OBC, 15.5 percent SC, 5.7 percent ST, and 0.1 percent EWS. The result of CAT 2023 is expected to be declared in the second week of January 2024.
