New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested the ‘main conspirator’ in the “Bulli Bai” case from Assam. Officials gave this information on Thursday: He said that the accused has been identified as Neeraj Bishnoi (21) and he will reach Delhi at around 3.30 pm. A senior official said that Bishnoi is the creator and main conspirator of the “Bully Bai” app on the GitHub platform and he is also the main account holder of “Bully Bai” on Twitter.
The accused has been arrested by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of Delhi Police. This is the fourth arrest in the case. The Cyber Cell of Mumbai Police, which is probing the case, has made three arrests so far. Mumbai Police has arrested a 19-year-old woman from Uttarakhand, a 21-year-old engineering student from Bengaluru, and another 21-year-old youth from Uttarakhand in the case. They arrested a 19-year-old woman who is believed to be the main culprit.
Hundreds of Muslim women’s names were put up for “auction” on the “Bully Bai” mobile application and their photographs were put up without permission. Photos were also tampered with. The app appears to be a variant of the “Sully Deal”, which sparked a similar controversy last year. The Delhi Police on Saturday registered an FIR against unidentified persons for uploading an allegedly morphed photograph of a woman journalist on the website. The journalist had lodged the complaint and shared a copy of it on Twitter.
