London: Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson will present a major plan for investment in the country’s defense sector in Parliament on Thursday. This will be the largest investment in the British defense sector since the end of the Cold War.
Downing Street said the massive investment plan will fund space and cybersecurity projects and is expected to create thousands of new jobs. The investment will focus on building a new agency dedicated to artificial intelligence, a unit called the National Cyber Force and setting up a new “space command” capable of launching the first rocket in 2022.

“I have made this decision in the midst of an epidemic because the defense of the country must be the first priority,” Johnson said. “The Cold War and the international situation are more dangerous and more competitive than ever,” he said. Britain must be true to our history and stand with our allies. To achieve this, we need to increase our capabilities in every field. ”
Johnson said, “This is the end of the age of backwardness, of rejuvenating our armed forces, increasing our global influence, uniting our country and taking it further, leading the way in new technology and protecting our people. There is a chance to improve their lifestyle. “
