Mumbai: Amidst the second wave of Corona, now a new initiative can be started in Mumbai on Corona Vaccination. The Bombay High Court said, ‘If possible, the BMC can go door-to-door to start the vaccination of old and differently-abled people. There is no need for the green signal of the central government for this. A bench of Justice Dipankar Gupta and Justice GS Kulkarni said, “Even if the Central Government has not given its approval, BMC can start it.”
The bench also noted that the central government did not pay attention to starting door-to-door vaccination. The bench said to BMC, ‘Will you come forward to help the old people? If you are ready for this, then we will give permission.
Court has asked BMC to reply
The court has asked BMC Commissioner Iqbal Chahal to file an affidavit in this case and reply. The court has said that every day is now very important in the fight against Corona. Actually, the court was hearing the public interest litigation filed by Dhruti Kapadia and Kunal Tiwari. The petition has demanded the central government to start a door-to-door vaccination program. Under this, vaccination has been said for people aged 75 and over.
Center said – Expert committee has been formed
Earlier, the High Court had told the Central Government that it should consider its policy in which door-to-door vaccination has been described as possible due to several reasons. On Wednesday, Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, who was appearing in the court on behalf of the Central Government, said, “An expert committee has been formed by the Center to take a decision on this matter.”
