Washington: US intelligence officials have found out that Russia is preparing a possible military attack against Ukraine and it could happen in early 2022 and in this about 1 75,000 personnel are expected to attend. An official of the administration gave this information.
New intelligence has estimated that more than half of Russian personnel are already stationed at various points near the Ukrainian border, an official in the administration led by US President Joe Biden said. The official gave this information on the condition of anonymity. This information comes at a time when Russia has demanded Biden guarantee that Ukraine will not be allowed to join the NATO alliance.
The official said that Russia’s plan talks of deploying 100 battalions of strategic groups. It also includes armament and equipment. Earlier on Friday, US President Joe Biden vowed to make Russia’s military offensive in Ukraine “extremely, very difficult” and said his administration would take steps to stop Russian aggression.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksey Reznikov told lawmakers on Friday that the number of Russian troops near Ukraine and in Crimea, annexed by Russia, is estimated to be 94,300 and there are fears that Russia may launch an attack next month.
