Islamabad: Pakistan’s new Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that he wants good relations with India, but it cannot be achieved without the resolution of the Kashmir issue. After his election as the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif said in Parliament on Monday that if the conspiracy is proved in the letter dispute, then I will resign and go home. According to Dawn, he said, “In future, no one will be able to believe that this happened in the Pakistani Parliament.”

Meanwhile, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif was on Monday elected as the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s MNA boycotted the elections. 174 MPs voted in his favor. Earlier, all the members of PTI MNA had walked out of the National Assembly. The party’s candidate for the top post was Shah Mehmood Qureshi. He announced that he would resign en masse from the National Assembly.

When Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri said that his conscience did not allow him to hold the session, Ayaz Sadiq of the PML-N presided over the session. While announcing the results, Sadiq recalled that he also presided over the session in which PML-N supremo and Shahbaz’s elder brother Nawaz Sharif was elected as prime minister.
