Mumbai: Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Anushka Sharma have had to ride a bike without a helmet. After receiving complaints from social media users, the Mumbai Police has started action against them. Both were recently seen riding different bikes without helmets. Amitabh took a lift from a fan to reach his workplace on Monday, while Anushka Sharma along with her bodyguard rode a bike to reach the shooting location early after the road jam. In both cases, neither Amitabh nor Anushka was wearing a helmet and neither was the person riding the bike.
On his Instagram account, Amitabh Bachchan thanked an unknown person for helping him get out of the jam and reach the shoot on time. Bachchan (80) shared a picture with a motorcyclist on the social media platform Instagram on Sunday night and wrote, ‘Thanks for the ride buddy… You don’t know but because of you, I reached the shoot on time. Thank you for saving me from the jam. In the picture, Amitabh is seen sitting on the back of a motorcycle.
Many people from the film world have praised Bachchan for his decision to accompany the bike rider, while some social media users have asked why both Bachchan and the bike driver did not wear helmets. One person wrote, ‘Where is the helmet, sir’. Tagging the Mumbai Police, another wrote, ‘Both the rider and the previous rider are without helmets. Mumbai Police please take note!
Mumbai Police reacted quickly to Amitabh Bachchan riding a bike without a helmet and said, ‘We have shared the matter with the traffic branch.’ Similarly, when a video of Anushka Sharma riding a bike surfaced on social media, came, a user tagged Mumbai Police and wrote, ‘Mumbai Police no helmet?’ In response, Mumbai Police said that the traffic police has been informed about it. The official Twitter handle of the Mumbai Traffic Police was also tagged in both tweets.
Bachchan is busy shooting for the film ‘Section 84’ these days. Ribhu Dasgupta is directing this film. On the other hand, Anushka is all set to make a comeback to films later this year with ‘Chakda Express’. This biopic directed by Prosit Roy is based on cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
