Washington: The United States has now announced a ban on travel from India, citing the growing cases of Coronavirus infection in India. These restrictions will come into force from Tuesday, 4 May. The White House has given information about this on Friday. However, according to some reports, these restrictions will not affect American citizens and green cardholders. During this time, America has once again reiterated its travel advisory and has asked its citizens to leave the country.
Indian travelers traveling to the US are going to be banned from May 4. White House Press Secretary Jane Saki said, “The administration will immediately stop travel from India on the advice of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention”. He told that ‘this decision has been taken due to the spread of various variants in India and the unusual Covid-19 cases.’
The United States has advised its diplomats and their families to return to the United States in view of the increasing cases in India. However, the State Department spokesman has made it clear that it is not mandatory but the whole level is optional. However, the official has refused to give details of cases of Covid-19 infection at the US Embassy. However, it was claimed in media reports that 2 local personnel have died in US missions in India. However, more than 100 have been found infected.
He said, ‘It is fair to say that Kovid has touched every part of Indian society. We have a large diplomatic presence in India. Looking at the global partnership with India, you can guess it. Earlier, America had issued a travel advisory and appealed to the US citizens present in India to leave India as soon as possible. Apart from this, the US has also promised India’s help to overcome the Covid situation.
