New Delhi: The longest trial of a 4-day work week was going on in Britain. Now its results have come to the fore. According to them, this experiment has been very successful. These results were released on Tuesday, in which it was told that this trial was successful. A total of 61 companies were involved in this trial, most of which have decided to adopt it. This means that people working in these companies will now have to work only for 4 days and will have 3 days off. This pilot project started in Britain in June of last year.
The project was coordinated by Four Day Week Global, Four Day Week UK Campaign, and Autonomy. About 3000 employees of 61 companies from different sectors were included in this. These employees were told that they should complete the work in 4 days which was to be completed in 5 days. This experiment was closely monitored not only by Oxford and Cambridge but also by experts from Boston College in the US. Professor Juliet Schor, Research Head of Boston College, said that the results of this trial have come as expected and it is correct for some institutions.
Most companies in favor
Most of the companies participating in this trial are in favor of regularizing this trial. 91 percent of the companies have said that they will continue this work week. At the same time, 4 percent of the companies said that they are not in favor of it. The companies gave the trial a score of 8.5 out of 10 based on their experience. In terms of business productivity, 7.5 out of 10 points were given. In the matter of earnings of the companies too, this new work was right. Compared to the same period last year, the revenue of the companies was 35 percent higher.
Which sectors were involved
Companies from different sectors were included in the trial of a 4-day work week. In this, companies from main sectors including banking, marketing, retail, and finance were included. During the trial, it was seen that there was a decline in the health problems of the employees. People believe that if the next 4-day work week is implemented, then people will be more productive, which will benefit the companies.
