New York: About 1,400 flights were canceled on Friday due to rain and storms on the east coast of the US. Due to this thousands of passengers had to face difficulties. According to airline FlightAware, about 1,400 flights were canceled, and another 6,300 flights were delayed. Such a large number of flights have been canceled for the second consecutive day in August.

In addition to the three major airports in New York City, Reagan National Airport outside Washington DC had the largest number of cancellations. About 250 American Airlines flights were canceled. At the same time, Republic Airways, which flies small planes for American Eagle, Delta Connection, and United Express, also canceled about 25 percent of its flights.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, flights were canceled due to heavy rain and storms in New York, Boston, Washington-DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Denver.
