Nearly 900 buildings damaged due to fire in California

Greenville: The worst fire in California’s history continues to spread and hundreds of houses have been destroyed in it. Firefighters are engaged in rescuing rural communities. Around 900 houses and other buildings were damaged on Tuesday due to the forest fire. The Dixie Fire also damaged more than 14,000 buildings in more than 12 small mountain and rural communities in the northern Sierra Nevada. It is named ‘Dixie Fire’ after the street where the fire started.

About 6,000 firefighters from the plane took part in the rescue operation this week as skies remained clear in some parts. Fire Department spokesman Edwin Zuniga said, “Whether we can take off or not depends largely on the smoke. There are some areas where there is a lot of smoke.” Firefighter Rich Thompson warned Monday evening that temperatures were likely to rise over the next few days.
