Rajkot: Cyclone Biparjoy in Gujarat has had a major impact on rail services. A large number of trains have been cancelled. Western Railway informed that 56 trains have been canceled on Monday due to Biparjoy. Whereas, 95 trains will remain canceled from Tuesday till June 15.

According to the information, some long-distance trains from Okha have been shortened till Rajkot. At present, the Bhavnagar-Okha Express train has been canceled for three days. It has been decided to keep it closed till 12, 13, 14 due to the impact of the storm.

These trains affected

  • Okha-Rajkot train is canceled from June 13 to 16.
  • The Rajkot-Okha train is canceled from June 12 to 15.
  • Veraval-Okha and Okha-Veraval trains are canceled from June 12 to 15.
  • Jaipur-Okha train has been shortened up to Rajkot.
  • Okha-Banaras train will depart from Rajkot instead of Okha on the 15th.
  • 12, 13, and 14 have been shortened to Mumbai Central-Okha Rajkot.
  • Okha-Mumbai Central will run from Rajkot instead of Okha on the 13,14 and 15.
  • Okha-Jagannath Puri train on the 15th will run from Ahmedabad instead of Okha.
  • The Ahmedabad-Veraval train was canceled on the 12th, 13th, and 14th of June.
  • The Veraval-Ahmedabad train was canceled on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of June.
  • The Veraval-Jabalpur-Veraval train on the 13, 14, 15, and 16 will leave Rajkot and will run up to Rajkot only.
  • The Veraval-Porbandar-Veraval train from 13th to 15th June is canceled.

All trains coming to Kutch canceled
Railways informed that due to cyclonic storm Biparjoy, all trains arriving in Kutch from 12 noon have been canceled till June 15. From 12 noon today, not a single train will arrive in Kutch and no train will leave.

Biparjoy is slowly turning into a very severe cyclonic storm. High waves are rising in the Arabian Sea. Due to Biparjoy, high waves are rising in the sea along the Konkan coast of Maharashtra. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Saurashtra and Kutch coasts in Gujarat in view of cyclonic storm Biparjoy over East-central and adjoining northeast Arabian Sea. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for June 14 and a red alert for June 15. In such a situation, there will be heavy rains with strong winds in Saurashtra, Kutch. The Meteorological Department has asked people to stay away from the Sea shores for the next three days.
