4 patients scorched due to heavy fire in Covid ward of Patidar Hospital, Ujjain

Ujjain: The fire broke out at Ujjain’s Patidar Hospital at 11.30 am on Sunday. On receiving the information, the fire brigade and the police administration team reached the spot. All 80 patients admitted to the hospital were shifted to other hospitals. Many of them were also corona infected.

The fire was overcome after nearly an hour of hard work. During this period, other items including the beds of the ICU ward of the hospital were burnt. There were no casualties in the incident. Four scorched patients were admitted to the nearby Gurunanak Hospital.

CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that free treatment of the injured has been arranged.

Initial investigations have revealed that the fire was caused by a short circuit at the place adjacent to the ICU ward. Although the police say that they are still investigating, some other reason can also be revealed.

At the same time, Collector Ashish Singh said that all the patients have been shifted to other hospitals safely. Apart from this, treatment of four patients burnt in the fire is also going on. These patients are also out of danger. He further said that steps will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not happen in any hospital in future.

According to the information, when there was a fire in the hospital, around 350 people were present there at that time. Firemen reached the spot on time and saved it from a big accident.
