Let us tell you that you will not see the tableau of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala this year i.e. 26 January 2022 (Republic Day), because the tableaux of these states have been rejected. So let us tell you today how these tableaux are selected for the parade on this historic festival i.e. Republic Day.
Objection to rejection of floats
In fact, the Chief Ministers of the states whose tableaux have been rejected have also raised objections by writing a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Although, till now the government has not announced the tableaux of Republic Day, it is being told in the media reports that this year you will get to see 21 tableaux in the parade. So let’s know how the tableaux are selected and what is the whole process.
Which ministry chooses?
Till now you must have seen the Republic Parade of the country every year, but have you ever had such a question that after all there are so many states in the whole country, and out of all these states, why would we get to see the tableaux of only selected states. After all, who decides which tableaux will see and which will not? So let’s go. According to the Indian Express report, the entire responsibility of the selection of tableaux lies with the Ministry of Defense. Not only this but the management of the security of this historic day, from parades to tableaux, etc. is also handled by the Ministry of Defense.

Here is the selection process of tableaux
We all know that during this time the President remains the chief guest, while the chiefs of the three armies also attend this program. Along with this, suggestions are sought from all the states and union territories. Not only this, a selection committee is prepared for this to deal with all the work well, which selects the tableaux of the states. During this, experts from culture, painting, music, agriculture, choreography, art, literature, and other fields are included in the selection committee. After reviewing from many angles, the final selection of tableaux is done by the committee members.
After the selection of tableaux
After the selection of tableaux, the process does not end there. Yes, let us tell you that after the selection of tableaux, 3D models are brought from the states, after that the standards that are set are discussed. During this, if any representative of the tableaux does not attend the meeting, then his tableau is rejected. After discussion, the final tableaux can be displayed at the Parade Ground. In this way, the tableaux are selected following the policy rules.
This is the set standard in relation to tableau
As we have told you the Ministry of Defense has the responsibility of selection of tableaux, but it does not propose any model-making company on its behalf. Along with this, only the names of the states can be written on the model of tableaux, nothing else. Please note that names can be in English or Hindi.
There are three models offered
According to the report, three models of designs are presented by the states/union territories or departments/ministries, out of which the final one will be selected. It is For the tableau, the responsibility of the vehicle (tractor), artist and their costume, folk song, music, etc. is the responsibility of the concerned State / Union Territory or Department / Ministry. Under this process, the tableaux are selected for the Republic Day parade.
