Kathmandu: At least 12 people have died and nine others are missing in separate incidents of landslide due to heavy rain on Thursday in western and eastern Nepal. Officers gave this information Nepal has been receiving heavy to moderate rains since Tuesday. According to the Meteorological Department, the rainfall will continue till Saturday.
Officials said nine people, including three children, were killed and four others went missing after a house was hit by a landslide in the Waling municipal area of western Nepal. A 15-year-old girl was killed in a similar incident in western Nepal while a person was killed in Palpa district, officials said.
Another person died in Dhanuka municipal area in eastern Nepal. Five people are missing after being hit by a landslide in Palpa. A joint team of Nepal Army and Nepal Police has been deployed for rescue operations
