Kabul: Thousands of Afghan nationals waiting in a stadium on Wednesday to get visas to leave the country were stampeded, killing at least 11 women. . Officials gave this information.

Governor Ataullah Khogyani said 13 other people, mostly women, were injured when people came to a stadium in eastern Nangarhar province to apply for visas to travel to Pakistan. He said most of those killed were elderly.

In another incident, at least 34 Afghan police personnel were killed in a Taliban attack in northern Afghanistan. A local hospital official gave this information. Rahim Bakhish Danish, director of the main hospital in Takhar province, said eight other security personnel were injured in the attack.
