Port au prince: In the Caribbean country Haiti, a large number of people have gone missing due to the sinking of a boat (Boat Sinks). Jose Rethon, the coordinator of the Office of Civil Defense in Haiti’s Northwest Department, told AP that the ferry sank at around 1 pm on Wednesday. The riders were returning to Il de la Tortuga from a daily market in Louis-du-Nord. Rethon said that nine people have been rescued but a large number of people are still missing.

He told how many people were in the boat, it has not been known yet. Rethon said the Haiti Coast Guard was unable to assist, and his office asked the US Coast Guard to help. He said that the weather was calm at the time of the accident and the waves were not lifting much.
