The Henley Passport Index 2023 was dominated this time by Asian countries:
Rank no 1– Japan
Japan has topped the list with a visa-free access score of 193. This means Japan provides visa-free or on-arrival visa access to 193 countries. This is the fifth time in a row a Japanese passport has been crowned the world’s most powerful passport.
Rank no 2- Singapore, South Korea
Second, on the list is Singapore with visa-free access granted to 192 countries. Singapore is sharing its second position with South Korea.
Rank no 3- Germany, Spain
Third on the list is Germany with visa-free access given to German passport holders in 190 countries. The third position is shared by Spain.
Rank no 4- Italy, Luxembourg, and Finland
Three European countries Italy, Luxembourg, and Finland share the fourth position with a visa-free score of 189.
Rank no 5- Austria, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden
The fifth position is shared by four countries– Austria, Denmark, Netherlands, and Sweden with a visa access score of 188 countries.

Let us tell you that this is the fifth consecutive year that Japan’s passport has got this position. By the end of 2021, only 24 million passports were in circulation in Japan. This number was 3 million less than the previous year. Not only this but it is followed by the passports of Singapore and South Korea in joint second place, followed by Germany and Spain. At the same time, the passports of Finland, Italy, Luxembourg come in the fourth place and Austria, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden come in the fifth place.

Talk about America, its passport also has power and it is included in the top 22 where it is allowed to visit 186 countries without a visa. Please inform that China also provides such facilities to 80 countries. Also, Bolivia also gives this facility to the people of countries almost equal to China. Russia offers visa-free entry to people from 118 countries. Afghanistan is far behind in this matter. Here only people from 27 countries have visa-free entry.
It is to be known that the London firm Henley & Partners has included passports of 199 countries in this list of Global Passports, which can travel to 227 countries. The company has given this ranking based on the data provided by the International Air Transport Association. While Japan is number one in this passport ranking, the condition of Pakistan’s passport is very bad. Pakistan’s passport comes at number 106 in this list of 109 countries.
