New Delhi: Around 15-20 unidentified people associated with Punjab Youth Congress gathered at India Gate on Monday morning and set the tractor on fire. The agricultural bills brought by the Center have recently given assent to President Ram Nath Kovind, against whom the protesting workers brought the tractor onto a truck and later set the tractor on fire. Groups of people gathered on the occasion shouted slogans like “Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Amar Rahe”, and “Anti-farmer, Narendra Modi”.

The fire has been extinguished and the tractor has also been removed. People involved in the incident are being identified, investigations are underway. Five people hailing from Punjab were detained in connection with protests and the burning of tractors near India Gate in Delhi. Legal action ensued.
