New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) once again impressed the world with its technology. ISRO launched 10 satellites via PSLV-C49 at 3:02 p.m. This launch has been done from Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota. Of these, 9 are international satellites, while one is Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-01). The countdown to the launch began on Friday.
The primary satellite EOS01 in this launch is a radar imaging satellite (RISAT). This is an advanced reset whose synthetic aperture radar will be able to see beyond the clouds. All these satellites have been launched under a commercial agreement with New Space India Limited. Scientists say that the satellite ‘EOS-01’ is an advanced series of Earth observation reset satellites. Watch VIDEO …
PSLV-C49 rocket will be India’s intelligence eye
- The primary payload of the rocket is India’s radar imaging satellite EOS-01, it is RISAT-2BR2 satellite renamed EOS 01.
- EOS-01 is an advanced Earth observation satellite whose synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is capable of capturing high resolution images even through day and night, regardless of the clouds.
- Scientists say India’s new eye will boost military surveillance capabilities from space and help security forces monitor the border between China and the LAC stand-off.
- At the same time these rocket EOS-01 will be used for civil applications like agriculture, forestry, soil moisture, geology, coastal monitoring and flood monitoring.
- Immediately after the PSLV C49 launch, ISRO will launch its much awaited GSAT-12R satellite via PSLV C50 and then the GISAT-1 satellite will be launched via GSLV rocket.
