Holi mythology
It is believed that Hiranyakashipu, who considered himself a god on the day of Holika Dahan, wanted to burn his own son Prahlad alive in devotion to God through his sister Holika, but God gave his blessing to the devotee and made himself for Prahlad in the funeral pyre. Holika died by burning. Therefore, on this day there is also a tradition of Holika Dahan. Holika Dahan is played with colors the next day, so it is also called Rangwali Holi and Dulhandi.
