
Ujjain: Due to the 24 hours of rain in Ujjain and surrounding areas of Madhya Pradesh, the water level of the Shipra river has increased suddenly on Saturday morning. The rain continues in the city since 5 am. Many small and big temples have been submerged in the water at Ramghat situated on the river. Home Guard soldiers were deployed to stop the devotees coming to Ramghat on Saturday morning. He drove many people away from Ramghat. After the ever-increasing water level, a small bridge built on the Shipra river has been submerged in water. It was closed by putting barricades on both sides.
The spell of drizzling rain stopped throughout the day on Friday, but heavy rain started late last night, which continued till 2 o’clock in the night. It rained lightly in the morning. It was cloudy. According to the Government Jiwaji Observatory, the maximum temperature was recorded at 30 and the minimum was 23 degrees on Friday. Humidity was 90 percent in the morning and 70 percent in the evening. The wind speed was recorded at 2 in the morning and 6 km in the evening. It has rained 3.6 mm in the last 24 hours. But the water level of the Shipra river started increasing late at night after the rains in Indore including the adjoining areas.
0.06% above normal rain so far
Monsoon has become active once again in Madhya Pradesh after a break of 5 to 6 days. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in the state. Heavy water is falling in many parts. The Meteorological Department says that the period of heavy rain will continue till Sunday. Due to the activation of three systems in Madhya Pradesh, it is raining in most of the districts. 0.06% above normal rainfall has been recorded in the state from June 1 to August 19. 30 districts across the state are still far from the average rainfall figure. Even after the onset of the monsoon before the scheduled time, most of the districts of the state are in need of rain.

According to the Meteorological Department, in the last 24 hours 66.0 mm in Shajapur, 52.0 mm in Khandwa, 49.4 mm in Chhindwara, 28.4 mm in Raisen, 26.0 mm in Narsinghpur, 24.8 mm in Hoshangabad, 20.4 mm in Sidhi, 19 mm in Pachmarhi, 19.0 mm in Guna, 18.2 mm in Seoni, 11.6 mm in Mandla, 10.4 mm in Satna, 10.3 mm in Jabalpur, 5.4 mm in Betul, 5.2 mm in Khargone, 5.0 mm in Damoh, 4.8 mm in Bhopal, 4.4 mm in Malajkhand, Ujjain recorded 4.4 mm of rain, Sagar 4.2 mm, Indore 4.1 mm, Rewa 2.8 mm, Umaria 2.4 mm, Dhar 1.7 mm and Bhopal city 8.7 mm.

Rain quota not yet met in 30 districts
Even after heavy rains across the state, 30 districts are still away from the normal rainfall quota. Even after 20 days of the month of August, the quota of average rainfall is yet to be met in 30 districts. Anuppur 3 percent, Balaghat 36 percent, Chhatarpur 23 percent, Damoh 41 percent, Dindori 9 percent, Jabalpur 37 percent, Katni 28 percent, Mandla 18 percent, Narsinghpur 1 percent, Panna 34 percent and Sagar 13 percent.
Chances of rain
The Meteorological Department said that a low-pressure area has formed near the Odisha coast in the Bay of Bengal. The western end of the Monsoon Trough lies in the foothills of the Himalayas, while the eastern end extends up to the low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. Apart from this, Western Disturbance is also active. Due to the activation of these 3 weather systems, the process of arrival of moisture has started on a large scale. Due to this, there is a possibility of good rains in the whole of Madhya Pradesh. The low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is moving in a west-northwest direction. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy rain in most of the districts across the state.
