
Washington: In the US, President Joe Biden’s administration has spent three years working in the field of solar energy solutions in rural India, and climate and energy expert Indian-American Vidisha Bhattacharyya (US Agriculture Department) in the Department of Agriculture Has appointed. Bhattacharya was appointed as Senior Policy Advisor at the Agricultural Services Agency (FSA) on Monday. Prior to this, she was the Director of Climate and Energy Policy at the Center for American Progress.

Prior to joining American Progress, Bhattacharya was the Vice President of Emerging Markets at the impact investment company Village Capital. He led the team in India, Mexico and East Africa to encourage investment in high-impact startups for clean energy and their financial solutions. Prior to this he worked for three years with technology startup Simpa Networks, working in the field of solar energy solutions in rural India. He holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard and a bachelor’s in economics from St. Olaf College.
