Pithoragarh: In Munsiyari Tehsil of Pithoragarh, a frontier district of Uttarakhand, the Valley Bridge on Sengargad on the Munsiyari-Milam road connecting China border was broken at 9 am on Monday 22 June. The bridge breakdown occurred when a trolley was passing through the bridge carrying a Pokeland machine.
After the accident, the Pokeland machine laden on the trolley got caught in the river. Movement on both sides has come to a standstill due to the breakdown of this important bridge. Tram driver Govardhan Singh resident Lamgra Almora and Pokland operator Lakhwinder Singh resident Punjab were seriously injured in the accident, which is being treated at the health center Munsiyari.
Significantly, these days, the work of cutting the Milam road connecting China border is in full swing, so heavy machines are being transported on the border. On the information of the accident, local people reached the spot and transported the driver and operator to the hospital. Doctors say that the health of both the injured is improving. At present, contact with China border has been cut due to the breakdown of this important bridge. Due to this, the problems of Indian Army and ITBP deployed on the border have increased. By this way, Indian jawans are transported at the border of logistics materials.
Due to the breaking of this important bridge, more than two dozen migration villages of the frontier have also lost contact with the Munsari headquarters. Due to the breakdown of the bridge, the contact of Milam, Vilju, Burfu Tola Panchhu, Laspa, Gunghar, Khilach Rilkot village of Malla Johar including Dhapa, Querizimia, Saipolo, Leelam, Buipatas has been lost.
Local public representatives say that the driver was alerted to the danger even before climbing the bridge but he did not listen. People here have demanded full money from the company and strict legal action against the culprits. These people say that they go to the Johar Valley by this route. Other routes are also closed from below. In such a situation, it is challenging to build this bridge connecting the festival in the rainy season.
